We are eagerly waiting to see a completely new version of the popular HD truck. Among them, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Crew Cab will be one of the last ones to come, but it will also be one of the most interesting versions for potential drivers.
The next-generation of the toughest Silverado models is coming soon. We count on a full load of novelties for this occasion, including a completely new engine. Although the new model is still far away from the launch, most of the details are already known.
- Powerful engine options
- Good towing capacity
- Attractive price
- Spacious cabin
- Mediocre interior quality
- Firm ride
The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Crew Cab will be the toughest HD model in the company’s lineup. Like other versions, it will also ride on the company’s new T1 platform. So, we count on various improvements compared to the outgoing model. Besides new mechanics and better overall performances, the new model will also get a completely new styling. This redesign will bring significant changes in terms of aesthetics. We will see a completely new front end, characterized by a pretty massive grille and super-bold overall layout.
Like the rest of the lineup, this one will also come with two grille designs in the offer, depending on the trim level. The rest of the truck won’t change drastically compared to the current model, though smaller changes in terms of dimensions are about to come.
When it comes to interior design, we have no doubt that many details will be borrowed from the recently-redesigned light-duty model. Improved interior quality and new dashboard design seem certain, but the most distinctive part of this particular version will be its cabin layout.
As the name says, this model will come in a crew cab layout and if we consider that a slights size increase is expected, the new cabin should be even more spacious, maybe even on par with Toyota Tundra.
Ford F-350 and Ram 3500 will continue to be arch rivals. Therefore, GM has prepared a lot of novelties for this redesign. One of them is a completely new gasoline engine. It measures 6.6 liters in displacement and should feature max output of around 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.
On the other side, the capable 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel will remain untouched, so you can count on 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. However, it will come with a new 10-speed automatic transmission, so we count on improvements in all aspects.
