2021 Ford F-650 Review – The current generation of this medium-duty truck has been redesigned just a couple of years ago and it looks like we are already about to see some updates, which won’t be small at all. Moreover, we are about to see changes in various aspects, starting with new engine options and new tech features.
Some reports even suggest exterior updates, particularly in terms of the styling. Despite we are still far away from the production of this model, the aforementioned updates are a certain thing, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see even more of them.
- Versatile chassis design makes the truck suitable for any kind of work
- Spacious cabin
- Capable and efficient engines
- New safety systems are coming
- High starting price
- Although a medium-duty truck, we would like more tech goodies
When it comes to the exterior design, there is a big chance to see a couple of revisions in terms of the styling. While the overall shape is about to remain in a typical manner of a Class 7 truck, there is a chance to see novelties at the front, which isn’t a surprise, considering that the last redesign didn’t bring any significant aesthetical changes.
Considering that the truck is quite capable, these updates seem logical, especially if we consider that there are no many rivals around. Practically, models like Freightliner Business Class M2 and International Durasta are the only competitors.
Interior updates are expected as well. The current model comes with a couple of different cabin configurations and we have no doubt that these will remain. Moreover, we count on the same overall interior design, including the same dashboard layout.
This truck features a nice interior, which is a quite pleasant place to be in. On the other side, we are about to see updates in terms of new safety and driver-assist features, while additional hi-tech updates and upgrades seem possible too.
Big updates are expected under the hood as well. First of all, it looks like that the current 6.8-liter V10 unit is going to be replaced with a new 7.3-liter V8, which already debuted in refreshed Super Duty models. In these trucks, it delivers around 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, though the exact numbers for medium-duty models are still unavailable.
On the other side, a diesel engine is about to continue in the same way, so you may count on three output variants once again. Both models come with a heavy-duty 6-speed automatic transmission.
2021 Ford F-650 Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2021 Ford F-650 sometime in the second half of the next year. Base models should go around $57,.500.
