2021 Volvo XC90 Polestar Engine

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2021 Volvo XC90 Polestar will come with upgrades on two familiar gasoline engines. The T5 model features a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine which is good for about 245 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

The T6 features the same turbo-four engine but boosted with an additional supercharger so a max output goes up to 320 hp. In both cases, Polestar will come up with hardware and software optimizations, as well as with transmission and throttle response tweaks.

As a result, we will get more power, while fuel economy and emissions are about to remain at the same level. Unfortunately, the exact numbers are still unavailable.

2021 Volvo XC90 Polestar Exterior

Other than more powerful engines, the 2021 Volvo XC90 Polestar shouldn’t feature too many differences compared to standard models. The overall design will remain the same.

Which means the same styling, which hasn’t been touched too much since 2014, when the current generation was launched. Still, we have to say that this model still looks pretty impressive and that is definitely one of the better-looking models in the class.

2021 Volvo XC90 Polestar Interior

The same story is expected on the inside. The XC90 features a very stylish cabin, pretty much on par with German rivals Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. The dashboard looks very opulent, while the amount of space in all rows is impressive.

Typically, for Volvo models, the list of safety systems is impressive, but loads of other tech goodies are present as well. All in all, we don’t expect bigger changes in the future, except for possible additions of new standard features.

2021 Volvo XC90 Polestar Release Date and Price

We expect to see 2021 Volvo XC90 Polestar available sometime late in the next year. The price will definitely be higher compared to the current model, which starts at around $48,000.
